✈️Atmos Rewards is a (relatively new) joint loyalty program between Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines. They now share a points currency, giving you even more options to earn and use these points for flights!

Alaska has long been a sweet spot for points and miles travelers, and with newly revamped credit card options, it’s now easier than ever to build up a stockpile of these valuable miles.

So let’s dive into this loyalty program, how to book award flights, where to find the best partner deals, and so much more! 🌟👇🏼

How to book on Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines

🔍So let’s find a flight on Alaska Airlines!

First up, we like to search for one way flights to give ourselves more flexibility in booking AND if something comes up and we need to change our booking.

You can search for one specific airport or a location that might have multiple airports (like the Los Angeles area). Once you input your origin and destination, make sure to check the “Use points” box to see award rates.

You also have the option to check the box indicating you have flexible dates, which will pull up this handy calendar below!

If you have flexible dates, this award calendar is super helpful. 👏🏻 It will show you the lowest priced dates for a thirty day time frame, and you can also adjust the fare type you are looking for if you’re looking for premium cabin rates.

Notice there are multiple airlines and multiple price points, so you can sort through the options to see which route and rate fits your travel plans and points budget.

Everything looks exactly the same when done through Hawaiian’s website, just different branding! And prices for Alaska and Hawaiian flights will be the same on each other’s websites.

Partner award deals we love!

🫱🏻‍🫲🏽 Atmos Rewards is part of Oneworld Alliance, so points can be used to book flights on partner airline flights that you see on Alaska or Hawaiian. And because of their distance based award chart (more on that below), you can find some FANTASTIC deals. Some of my favorite partner options:

American Airlines

British Airways

Japan Airlines

Condor Airlines

Iberia Airlines

Cathay Pacific

Aer Lingus

Why their pricing is so great….

Atmos Rewards airlines follow what is called a “distance based award chart.” This makes it easy to predict standard pricing for certain destinations, and also means that you can find some pretty amazing deals!

Here is an example of the award chart for flights operated by Alaska and Hawaiian ⬇️

And an example flight here of how this would look when searching on Alaska:

There are other award charts as well depending on destination and if you're booking on a partner airline. Here is the award chart for partner flights to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa ⬇️

Stopover program

🛑Alaska Airlines offers a stopover program, which means that you could break up your international itinerary and book a stopover without paying extra miles! A stopover is like a layover but it is 24 hours or more.

The rules:

  • You must be flying an international itinerary.

  • Most stopovers are limited to partner hubs.

  • Each one-way trip can have a stopover. So, you could potentially book two stopovers on a round-trip.

  • You cannot fly more than one partner airline.

  • Not all flights will be available.

Let’s walk through an example of how to make this work. Our example itinerary will start in Boston, stopover in London, and then continue onto Madrid.

We will use the “Multi-city” option for our search. This allows up to input our origin and stopover city in Flight 1, then we input the last leg of the journey to our final destination in Flight 2.

From there, we will be able to select the dates and flight times that work for our plans, and select the stopover of 24+ hours. Notice that these flights are operated by partner, British Airways.

We could book this whole itinerary for just 27,500 points and $388 in taxes! 🎉

Bottom line

If you’re looking for your next favorite airline loyalty program, make it this one. 😉

We’ve been stockpiling these valuable points for the last couple of years and we have been strategically cashing them in for some exciting award flights!

➡️Like 12,500 per way from Phoenix to Alaska.

➡️Or 45,000 miles per way for business class from the US to London.

No matter what your travel goal, Atmos Rewards is a great place to start your search!
