The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is easily one of my top picks for a solid starter card for anyone looking to earn points for travel! It’s low annual fee, easy to use flexible miles, and the 2x earning rate across all purchases make this card a no-brainer.
So let’s break down everything you need to know about this card so you can decide if it deserves a spot in your wallet (spoiler alert ‼️ it probably does!). 👇🏼
Welcome offer
⭐️Elevated offer alert! When you open the Capital One Venture card, you can earn 75,000 bonus miles plus a $300 Capital One Stays credit after spending $4,000 on purchases on the card in the first 3 months.
We’re talking at least$1,000 towards travel. That’s a huge perk right out the gate, and one easy way to offset the cost of the $95 annual fee.
Points = nearly free travel. Perks I 🫶🏼
This beginner-friendly card comes with a few solid perks that are easy to use and maximize for your travel goals.
You’ll get: 🛫Up to $120 credit for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry (renews every 4 years)
⭐️Travel insurance and protections
❌ No foreign transaction fees
Earning rates with the Venture X:
🛒 2x on all purchases
💻 5x on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked in the Capital One travel portal
That 2x on everything is one of the many reasons I keep this card year after year. This is what I call a “catch-all card” that I swipe when I’m making purchases that don’t fit into one of the other nice and neat earning categories (like groceries, gas, travel, etc.).
Anybody fancy earning 2x on all those Costco purchases? 😏How to use these points
This card earns (what I think are the most flexible) flexible rewards: Venture Miles.
You have a few different ways that you can redeem these rewards for travel:
-Transfer points out to more than 20 airline or hotel transfer partners
-Use these miles to book in the Capital One Travel portal
-Cover the cost of a travel purchase on the card
I put together an in-depth tutorial on all the ways you can use these miles, so make sure to check out the blog post below! 👇🏼

If you’re ready to open your first (or even your 10th 😉‼️) travel rewards credit card, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is one that I recommend to everyone. Valuable, flexible rewards, a low annual fee, and an easy way to rack up 2x on every purchase you make! 👏🏻
