How I Used the Edit Hotel Credit from The Chase Sapphire Reserve®

We finally jumped all in with the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card this year (how could we turn down that elevated offer for 150,000 Chase points?! 🤩) and we’ve been spending the past few months making the most of the $795 annual fee. When it comes to premium cards and an annual fee like that, you gotta put in a little work to make those perks WORK for you. 👏🏻
Here’s how I’m using the hotel credit that comes with this card (and the special 2026 hotel perk I’m stacking it with). 👀⬇️

What is the hotel credit?
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® comes with a $500 annual “The Edit” hotel credit ($250 per qualifying 2-night stays). Twice a year, any time of year, you can book a hotel stay through Chase Travel and save up to $250 on that 2+ night reservation.
📆 This hotel credit resets each calendar year.
For 2026 only….This year only, cardholders will also receive a one time credit of up to $250 for select Chase Travel hotels! This also requires a booking of 2+ nights. The select hotel brands are IHG® Hotels & Resorts, Montage Hotels & Resorts, Pendry Hotels & Resorts, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts.
And YES. You CAN stack these credits. 😏 More on that later!
How to search for eligible hotels
First up, log into your bank account and navigate to the Chase Travel section. Then input your desired location, dates, and party size. *Remember that you have to book a stay of at least 2 nights to trigger the credit.
Once you see your search results, it’s time to filter! If you’re wanting to use your Edit credit, select “The Edit” filter to see those eligible hotels.
Then when you filter your search, you should see this banner at the top that indicates that the hotel is part of the The Edit👇🏼
You’ll then choose your room type and book from there! When you’re on the check out page, you can also check to see what credits you still have available for use:
The STACK 🥞
Ready to sweeten the deal? With these hotel and travel credits, there is a way that you can stack three of these credits for a maximum of $800 off one hotel stay. 🤩 So here’s what you need to know:
-You can book your 2+ night stay with your semi-annual Edit credit for $250 off.
-There is also a select hotel credit for $250 off certain brands, so as long as the hotel you’re booking is part of one of those brands, you can use that credit on the same booking.
-The Chase Sapphire Reserve® also comes with a $300 annual travel credit can be used toward any travel booking, so as long as you haven’t used it yet for the year, that can apply too!
How I stacked my credits
I am deep into the planning process for our trip to Thailand next year, and these credits were the perfect way to check one of our hotel bookings off the list!
When searching for our hotel in Phuket, I filtered my results first for The Edit properties, then I looked at hotels that were part of IHG (since this was one of the select hotel chains for the 2026 hotel credit).
Dinso Resort & Villas fit the bill perfectly. With my three credits, I only paid $109 out of pocket for this luxury hotel stay!
This is the charge for my hotel stay, and then all three credits processed within a few days! (Since the $300 annual travel credit comes off automatically, part of it had been credited to us a week earlier for airport parking fees, otherwise you would see the full $300 here.) ⬇️

Bottom line
We have been LOVING the benefits of the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card, and this hotel booking was the biggest value add yet. It’s easy to be scared off by big annual fees, but you also find the biggest wins from these cards! It was a great addition to our wallet.
