Citi has a line of credit cards that earn flexible rewards called Citi ThankYou points. While we may not talk about Citi as often as other banks, it’s still a fantastic option for earning flexible points (which you know are my favorite 😉).

And what’s even more exciting….they have a brand new transfer partner option that makes their cards even more desirable and valuable! Citi ThankYou points now transfer to American Airlines, which is a very exciting opportunity for us all and gives us a new way to earn miles for AA deals! ✈️

Other ways to use Citi ThankYou points

There are a variety of ways to use your ThankYou points for travel or other purchases. You can opt to book travel with your points directly in the Citi travel portal and you will earn one cent per point when booking this way. There are options to also shop with your points, buy gift cards, or use your points for a statement credit. But if you are looking to get the most value for your points, transferring to transfer partners is always my favorite option!

My favorite card that earn Citi ThankYou points

⭐️Citi Strata Premier® Card is my top option for earning Citi ThankYou points.

This card is one of my top recommendations for a starter/introductory travel rewards credit card. It comes with a $95 annual fee and a welcome offer of 60,000 flexible points after spending $4,000 on the card in the first 3 months. A pretty standard offer and can be compared to the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card as other great starter cards.

Bottom line:

Citi may not be our most talked about bank, but you won’t want to forget to consider some of their flexible point cards for valuable redemption options! And now that we can transfer to American Airlines, the Citi Strata might be worth a 5/24 slot and a spot in my wallet. 💳👏🏻

Side note: I cannot say thank you enough for using my links to apply! I earn a commission for those applications at no cost to you, and it helps keep all the free resources and support coming! 🩷
