There’s one perk of the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card that is not talked about enough. This card is a long term keeper with lots of travel perks, but did you know it also has some pretty great snack perks? 🍪🍬🥨😉
First up, cardholders get a complimentary DashPass membership, which means HUGE savings on those food delivery fees. 🚗 Some stores will have a $0 delivery fee and others will have discounts on the delivery fee depending on the store and purchase amount.
Second, you’ll get a $10 credit to use every month on DoorDash for one non-restaurant purchase (think 7-11, Walgreens, Dash Mart, CVS….so many options!). Which means this is a great excuse to get $10 worth of ice cream, or snacks for your next trip.
Using the credit
📲To get started you’ll need to download the DoorDash app and create your account. Then make sure to add your Chase Sapphire Preferred card to your account so that you’ll be able to link that card and use your card member perks!
Navigating the app
If you’re wanting to use your $10 monthly credit, you can start by choosing the “Convenience” category on your home page. You’ll notice that all of your options will pop up to give you an idea of which stores fall under this category. And remember: it must be a NON-restaurant purchase.
I’m lucky to live close enough to a Dash Mart that it makes sense for me to use my credit here. This way I can choose pick up to save on any potential delivery fees or purchase minimums, and it qualifies for my $10 credit.
So what is my favorite way to use this credit? ICE CREAM!🍦 We take this as an excuse to pick up pints once a month and have a movie night. Once you have found the items you want, add them to your cart, and you’ll notice at the bottom of the screen that you have a notification about your monthly benefit:
Check out
Then when you have your items in your cart, proceed to check out and double check whether you are opting for delivery or pickup. 🛻 If you are choosing delivery, keep an eye out for any fees. You can also choose whether you want to pick up your items right away or plan a future pick up/delivery.
Next on that screen you should see a section where you can toggle on to use your Chase monthly benefit. ✅ This is the option you want to choose so you can snag those snacks for super cheap!
When you see the break down below, I was able to purchase my 3 pints of ice cream for just $0.32 using my $10 monthly credit and choosing to pick up my order! 🎉
Pickup
I chose to place my order while we were out running errands, so I picked the Standard pickup option. We pulled up to the Dash Mart (which, I will admit, looked a little bit sketchy 😬), but I walked right in, gave them my name for the order, and they handed me my bag! Super easy!
Bottom line
Since the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a keeper for me anyway, this DoorDash and DashPass credit is like adding a cherry on top of my favorite travel card! We’ve saved a TON in DoorDash fees and it’s the perfect excuse to get your snack fix at least once a month for nearly free. 😉
Side note: I cannot say thank you enough for using my links to apply! I earn a commission for those applications at no cost to you, and it helps keep all the free resources and support coming! 🩷
