While transferring points out to partners is my favorite way to use my points, I do book in a bank travel portal every so often. And when I do, Capital One Travel is my go-to bank travel portal for multiple reasons!
⭐️ They have excellent earning rates when booking with your Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or your Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, flexible booking policies, and the most flexible points out there.
And thanks to one of those booking policies, I just scored a $50 travel credit. 👏🏻
Price Drop Protection
Capital One has a policy that essentially ensures you will be getting the best rate for your travel booked through the Capital One Travel portal.
So how does this price drop protection work exactly? Well let’s say you’re looking at a flight in the travel portal and the price prediction tool tells you it’s a good time to buy. If you purchase your flight, Capital One will continue monitoring that price, and if that price drops within 10 days of booking the flight, you’ll get a credit back!
💰Capital One Travel will issue you the difference in price (up to a $50 maximum) and that will be usable as a travel credit in the portal. For instance, if the price of your flight drops by $22, you’ll get a $22 credit. If the price were to drop by $78, you would get the maximum $50 credit.
My credit
I received the email below letting me know that I was getting a Capital One travel credit, and I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea what this was when I read it. 🤪
So I logged into my Capital One Travel account in my Capital One app, and I checked my travel credit activity. The $50 credit had already be added to my account! My flight price had dropped by over $60 so I got the maximum credit back of $50.
How to use the credit
What I love about these travel credits is that they are so easy to use. You can use this credit toward anything booked in the Capital One Travel portal. We’re talking flights, hotels, rental cars, anything in the portal!
To find the Capital One Travel portal, click on View Rewards:
Then select Book a trip:
And this is the page where you can select what type of travel you want to book:
I can also combine this credit with my annual $300 travel credit from my Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card to book a bigger redemption. Win-win! 🎉🛫
Side note: I cannot say thank you enough for using my links to apply! I earn a commission for those applications at no cost to you, and it helps keep all the free resources and support coming! 🩷
