So if you're a Hyatt loyalist, or you’ve got a stash of Hyatt points to burn, it’s time to check out these unique stays!
Here are some things you need to know about how these properties can be booked with points, how to search for them, and some perks when you book! 👇🏼
Hyatt and Mr. & Mrs. Smith
In 2023, Hyatt acquired the Mr. & Mrs. Smith brand and brought this boutique-hotel collection into the World of Hyatt portfolio, which created this partnership that us points and miles travelers can now take advantage of! 🫱🏻🫲🏽
About 700 Mr. & Mrs. Smith properties can now be booked through Hyatt using Hyatt points.
Using Hyatt Points for Mr. & Mrs. Smith Properties
When you book an eligible Mr. & Mrs. Smith night through Hyatt:
✅You earn 5 base World of Hyatt points per $1 of eligible room rate.
✅Hyatt elites (Discoverist, Explorist, Globalist) also earn their usual bonus on those base points.
✅Globalist members may be eligible for a room upgrade at check-in, though perks like guaranteed late checkout or club access do not apply here.
✅And if you're chasing Hyatt’s Brand Explorer Awards, a stay will also check this brand off your “Hyatt Bingo” (as we affectionately call it 😉).
Pricing
Unlike typical Hyatt brands that are all broken into categories, Mr. & Mrs. Smith properties do not follow Hyatt’s standard award chart. Instead, their redemption pricing is dynamic which means that the cost in points varies depending on cash rate, date, and room type.
❌Because of this, free-night certificates (like Category 1–4, Category 1–7, etc.) cannot be used for these hotels.
This also means that these rates can vary quite a bit, and you might find some rates per night that are MUCH higher than you tropical find (like, over 100,000 Hyatt points per night 🫣). So make sure you’re also keeping an eye out for a good value for your hard earned Hyatt points!
Why Stay at a Mr. & Mrs. Smith Property?
These aren’t your cookie-cutter chain hotels; they are very unique. Each property is individual and has their own charm and perks. They also have destinations where you might not be able to find your standard chain hotel, so this gives you even more options if you’re planning to travel outside the big cities!
Some are tucked away in remote nature. Think glamping tents, treehouses, or forest retreats. Others are luxury villas or cozy cottages. Or like we booked in Scotland, an adorable little stay tucked away in a Scottish pub. 🍻
Example Booking
You’ll start your search for these properties like any other Hyatt hotel. ⭐️One thing to note is that availability for these properties don’t open up as early (or as regularly) as Hyatt hotels (which open availability 13 months in advance).
When you pull up the property you want to book, you will notice that there is no “Points Calendar” to reference since these hotels do not have a category assigned to them. So you will have to search for each individual day to see points rates. 👇🏼
Since they have dynamic pricing, you’ll see the points prices vary quite a bit and will not follow that standard Hyatt pricing you are used to.
You will click on the Select & Book and that will take you to a screen to use your Hyatt points for booking. Super easy!

The room we booked cost 32,500 points per night, and it was a cash rate of about $580, so I felt that it was a great deal for a room that would sleep my family of 3! And we are very much looking forward to this amazing destination. 🤩
