Secrets Impression Moxché was the perfect spot for Keegan and I to celebrate 9 happy years married. 💍 This place is one of the Impression resorts as part of the Secrets collection. An adults-only, all-inclusive paradise that exudes luxury at every turn.
I was so lucky to snag reservations as soon as the award availability opened before the resort even officially debuted in December 2022 — and let me tell you, it totally lived up to the hype!
📍Nestled in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico (just a quick 45-minute ride south of Cancun and the airport), this luxury resort is the ultimate getaway.
Location and booking
In 2021, Hyatt snatched up Secrets Resorts & Spas, making these ✨dreamy all-inclusive resorts✨ way more accessible for award travelers ready to cash in their points for a luxury getaway without breaking the bank.
When Impression Moxché first dropped its award availability in the fall of 2022, I scored an absolute steal: 5 nights for just 25,000 points per night! That covered everything—room, food, drinks, and activities for two. I transferred my Chase Ultimate Rewards points straight to Hyatt and booked it right through their website.
Now, the standard rate for a room like this is 50,000 points per night, but honestly? Still totally worth it. Finding availability at this popular destination can be a challenge, but if you can manage to snag off-peak nights, you’ll only pay 42,000 points per night. For peak nights, expect to pay 58,000 points per night.

As for getting there, this beachfront property is super easy to reach via an airport shuttle transfer booked through Amstar directly through the resort. We paid $98 for a round-trip shuttle for the two of us. Worth it!

Two resorts in one location
Secrets Impression Moxché and Secrets Moxché Playa Del Carmen are basically two resorts in one, blending together perfectly but offering a different vibe and perks. If you’re booking as a Secrets Impression guest, you’re in for a treat because you get access to everything on the property — including all of the Secrets Moxché resort! But if you’re staying at Secrets Moxché, there are a few areas that are exclusive only to Impression guests.
Amenities
This resort seriously had everything, and after 5 days, we barely even scratched the surface of all the amazing stuff they had to offer!
The real perk of being an Impression guest? You get to chill in quieter spots, with dedicated servers, and the best part—no fighting for lounge chairs!
It’s like VIP treatment all day, every day!
Secrets Impression had a total of 3 exclusive pool areas just for guests staying in the Impression building—talk about luxury! You’ve got an infinity pool on the 9th floor and another one on the 3rd, plus extra pools on the beach level and the 9th floor. Oh, and did I mention the hot tubs? Two on the 9th floor and one on the 3rd, all with stunning ocean views. Pure paradise. 🏝️
We also had our own private beach area, complete with lounge chairs and cabanas right next to the ground floor pool. No need to reserve a cabana — just show up and let the attendants work their magic. They’ll set up your lounge chairs, bring fresh towels, and even take your food and drink orders starting at 10am. It’s like having a personal beach butler!
On the Secrets Moxché side of the resort (which you can totally access as an Impression guest), there’s no shortage of pool options! You’ve got the main pool with a swim-up bar, a huge lagoon-style pool, a beachside pool, and even a rooftop pool on the lobby building. Plus, there are a bunch of smaller pools and hot tubs scattered all over, so you’ll never run out of places to lounge, hammocks to chill in, or pools to dive into. It’s basically pool paradise at every turn!
If you ever felt like taking a break from poolside lounging (though, let’s be real, that’s hard to do), the resort had a bunch of fun activities to keep you busy! You could hop on an ocean kayak for a tour, join in on water aerobics, stretch it out with yoga on the beach, or even dive into some pool volleyball.
☀️For when you needed a break from the sun (or just wanted to shake things up), The Dark Horse sports bar had you covered. With a pool table, foosball, and even a golf simulator, it was the perfect spot for some evening fun. Plus, every night there was a new activity you could join in on and score some prizes! During our stay, we had a blast with karaoke, BINGO, and blackjack. The fun never stopped!
At this all-inclusive paradise, most amenities were included in your room rate, but there were a few extras you could splurge on if you wanted. For example, the luxurious spa on the Moxché side of the resort was available for all guests to book relaxing treatments and massages.
If you were in the mood for adventure, there were also plenty of tours and excursions off the resort that you could book for a full or half day. So whether you wanted to unwind or explore, there were options to make your stay even more unforgettable.
Rooms
When booking a room with points at this hotel, you can choose a Signature Suite with a tropical view, featuring either a king bed or two double beds. We got a little lucky and were upgraded upon arrival to a room with an ocean view, which had the same size, layout, and amenities as the room we originally booked with points. Despite my Hyatt status being just Member at the time, I emailed the general manager to let them know we were celebrating our anniversary and kindly asked for an upgrade, and they came through!

The Signature Suite we stayed in was a spacious 947 sq. feet of pure luxury. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear this room was designed with every comfort in mind.
The first thing we noticed? Welcome gifts waiting for us on the plush king-sized bed! The resort had gifted us a beach bag and his-and-hers sun hats to use during our stay — and, of course, take home afterward. The bed was super comfy, and we loved the smart room features nearby, making it easy to connect to resort amenities and control the room. There was a tablet by the bed where we could order room service, browse dining options, and check out resort events. Plus, there was a control panel on the wall for adjusting lights, fans, and curtains, making everything feel extra high-tech!
Our bathroom was a total dream. It was spacious, with double sinks, a rain shower, a soaking tub, double closets, and even a separate toilet area—talk about luxury.
*They thought of everything, and we had all the essentials for a perfect stay, including bug spray, SPF 15 sunscreen, bath salts, shower products, a shaving kit, and more. It felt like they had every little detail covered so we could just relax and enjoy our time.
Being all-inclusive, the resort made sure we were always stocked up with a mini bar that got refreshed daily. It had everything we needed to feel right at home: a Nespresso machine, a mini fridge filled with soda, water, and beer, a wine fridge with two bottles of vino, and even some little snacks to munch on.
👀 But the real highlight? The balcony! It quickly became our favorite spot. It had stunning views of the whole resort and the ocean, and the comfy seating made it the perfect place to relax. Plus, there was a private soaking tub out there—soaking in the sunset with ocean views? Yes, please!
Dining
🍽️ Impression guests are seriously spoiled with choices—13 restaurants and 9 bars on the property! That’s a ton of dining options to satisfy every craving. And here’s the best part: 3 of those restaurants and 2 of the bars are exclusive to Impression guests. How awesome is that?
When you’re by the pools or the beach, there’s no shortage of food and drinks, and the staff is always happy to take your order and bring it straight to you. Our absolute favorite spot was the 9th floor of the Impression building. We could easily order food and drinks from the Cielo Impression Rooftop restaurant and bar while soaking in those breathtaking views! It was the perfect way to unwind and indulge.
Dining at the resort is all-inclusive, with one delicious exception: Teodoro. This fancy spot serves up a formal 7-course tasting menu, complete with wine pairings and top-notch service. If you're staying 5+ nights as an Impression guest, this gourmet experience is included in your stay. If you're there for fewer than 5 nights, you can still enjoy it at a discounted rate.
We made a reservation for Teodoro on our last night to celebrate our anniversary, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a special dinner while you're there, I highly recommend making it a priority! It's the perfect way to end your trip in style.
Hands down, the best food we had during our stay was their classic Mexican cuisine. During their weekly Roads to Mexico event, food stations were set up all along the Secrets Moxché side of the property, letting us experience the vibrant food, culture, and flavors from different regions of Mexico. It was absolutely delicious and, without a doubt, the highlight of our entire week! If you’re a foodie, don’t miss this event—it’s a must! 🇲🇽🌮
The resort was super thoughtful when it came to different diets and restrictions. Before seating us at each meal, they made sure to ask about any allergies or dietary preferences. Plus, every restaurant had great vegetarian and vegan options, so no one was left out. It was nice to know they were really paying attention to making sure everyone could enjoy their meals.
Service
The service at Secrets Impression was next-level! 🌟
As an Impression guest, we had dedicated butlers—one who started the day at 7am and another who stayed until 11pm—ready to make sure our stay was flawless. They were there to help coordinate activities, arrange anything we needed, and ensure we had the best experience possible. We even had a WhatsApp chat for the four of us to stay connected during our stay, and the butlers were always super courteous and incredibly attentive. It felt like having personal VIP service the entire time!
From grabbing a drink at the bar to lounging by the beach or ordering dinner, every staff member was beyond helpful and friendly during our stay. They were on top of everything—dishes were cleaned up in a flash, cabanas and lounge chairs were always stocked with fresh towels, and there was always someone nearby to take care of anything we needed. It was like having a personal team making sure we were always taken care of, without ever feeling rushed or overlooked!
Final thoughts
Secrets Impression Moxché totally blew me away—it's by far the most luxurious, stunning all-inclusive resort we've ever experienced! Sure, the point price is a bit on the higher side now, but honestly, it’s totally worth it when you consider everything that’s included and the top-notch quality of the resort and service.
The Moxché side of the resort is perfect for all types of groups and couples, but I’d say the Impression side really shines for couples, offering a more romantic and intimate vibe. If you're looking for a dreamy getaway to celebrate a special occasion or just need a relaxing beach escape, this place is the ideal choice. We would absolutely return to Secrets Impression Moxché—no question!
